The Denmark Historical Society currently has over 3,500 photographs in its ever increasing collection. These include B&W and colour, originals and copies of originals, glass plates, scanned images, and some images on DVD. Subjects of the photos include: people, locations, buildings, events, Group Settlements, Aboriginal related, religions/church related, community groups, farming (animals, buildings, crops, machinery and people) national parks, railway and road construction, locomotives, military and the services, rivers, schools, timber industry, sport, local government and memorials.
All accessioned photographs are given a unique number, scanned, filed digitally, then inserted into individual records on our specialised Collections Mosaic Database with their description, subject classification, historical data and associations, donor details and storage location.
A member of the public can request a copy of a photograph (copyright permitting), and a donation can be made to the Society to cover the cost of printing and/or postage.
